Geneva by Design began on the building site. Our director, Nicholas, started his career in commercial office fitouts, working alongside architects, builders and project managers to turn empty floors into working offices. It was an education in how a space really comes together: the timelines, the tolerances, the compromises, and the moment a finished room finally feels right. More often than not, the thing that made or broke that moment was the furniture.

That realisation led him into furniture. Where a fitout ends, the experience of a workplace begins, and Nicholas wanted to be the person who got that part right. He moved from building spaces to furnishing them, bringing a builder's eye for detail and an architect's respect for the room to every project.

Over the years that followed he travelled the world to find the pieces worth bringing home. He walked factory floors across Scandinavia, Europe, America and China, sat in the chairs, met the designers and got to know the families and teams behind the brands. Those relationships are the heart of Geneva today: a collection of makers chosen not for their catalogues but for their craft, their honesty and the care they put into every piece.

Geneva by Design is the result. We work with architects, interior designers and businesses across Australia to specify, source and deliver furniture that suits the space it lives in, from a single meeting room to a whole headquarters. Our showroom in Pyrmont is where it all comes together: a place to sit, compare and talk through a project with people who understand both the furniture and the building around it.
