A global software company, Sydney

This is a whole floor of furniture for a global software company in the Sydney CBD, completed in 2026. The client is not named here. Geneva supplied all of it: every table, every chair, the workstations, the pedestals, the booths, the ottomans and the acoustic pods.

A floor like this is usually bought in pieces. Workstations from one supplier, the boardroom from another, breakout from a third, and the colours reconciled afterwards by whoever is still holding the drawings. Here the whole package came from one place, and it shows in the details. The same terracotta turns up as a chair leg, a drum ottoman, a desk screen, a wall batten and the inlay under an oak side table. Teal and mustard do the same thing. Nothing is matched exactly, which would be worse, but everything is drawn from one set.

The boardroom is the anchor. A long custom oak table runs the length of a terracotta acoustic wall, with Mila upholstered boardroom chairs from Flokk around it in a pale grey that deliberately does not compete with the room. Custom was the right call here because the rooms are not simple rectangles: the building has an angled facade, and a catalogue table would have left awkward circulation at one end of nearly every room.

Out on the open floor the desks are electric sit to stand, which is now the baseline rather than a feature, and the more interesting decision is what sits under and beside them. Mobile pedestals carry upholstered tops so they double as seats. Screens are colour blocked rather than uniform, so a bank of desks reads as a neighbourhood instead of a row. Drum ottomans are scattered through and end up wherever the last conversation happened.

The loose seating runs to a dozen types because a floor this size needs a dozen postures. High backed lounge chairs at the glazing, deep tub chairs around a pouf, quilted armchairs in the quiet corners, boxy armchairs facing screens, timber shell chairs at the round tables, counter stools at the window bench, booth seating against the core. Range is the point. A single family of soft seating repeated forty times looks tidy in a plan and gives people exactly one way to sit down.

The acoustic pods close the loop. Black Framery Four and One Compact units take the calls that would otherwise be held at a desk, which is the failure mode of every open plan software floor. Between the pods, the booths and the perimeter settings, the bookable meeting rooms are left to do the thing they are actually good at, which is meetings that were planned in advance.
