(01) Overview
A café chair, reconsidered
The half armrest is the point: enough to rest on and to lift the chair by, but short enough that the chair still pushes under a table. The frame is solid ash, the seat and back plywood.
Padded or plain
The seat is upholstered in fabric or leather as standard, with an unpadded wood seat available where a room needs to be wiped down rather than cleaned.
Made in the Manzano chair district
Zilio A&C works from San Giovanni al Natisone in Friuli, in the chair district around Manzano where Italy has built seating since the nineteenth century. The company has been there since 1951 and is now run by the third generation, with solid timber machined, assembled and finished in its own workshops.
