(01) Overview
Variable thickness is the whole idea
The plywood shell is thicker where it takes load and thinner where it needs to flex, which is what lets the chair be comfortable without padding and light enough to move one-handed. The family now spans side chairs, armchairs, sled and four-star bases, in timber, polypropylene and full upholstery.

Made at Mornico al Serio
Pedrali has made furniture in Bergamo since 1963 and now runs two Italian plants — Mornico al Serio for metal and upholstery and Manzano, in the Friuli chair district, for solid wood. Moulding, welding, powder coating, upholstery and assembly are all done in-house, which is why the range can be specified finish by finish rather than shipped from stock.
