Aluminium doing the joinery

The die-cast frame carries the load between the timber legs and the plywood shell, which is what lets the legs stay slender and the shell stay thin without the visible bracing a traditional timber chair needs.

Made at Mornico al Serio

Pedrali has made furniture in Bergamo since 1963 and now runs two Italian plants — Mornico al Serio for metal and upholstery and Manzano, in the Friuli chair district, for solid wood. Moulding, welding, powder coating, upholstery and assembly are all done in-house, which is why the range can be specified finish by finish rather than shipped from stock.
